Spring is here!

As the end of school quickly approaches the Michalak house hold remains very busy with gymnastics and dance classes for girls, baseball practices and games for Mack (not to mention PT for his slightly torn ACL!)
Here are a few favorite memories for you to enjoy....

So proud of Elli. She is only 2 years old and knows almost all her letters and sounds! She loves school and is almost as big as Laney. Both girls have been attending dance classes (taught by me!) and will be performing in the Spring Recital on May 29th at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center on the "big stage".

Mack is excited to complete forth grade. He will be going to Camp this week with the 4th graders and his teachers. This is an overnight camp that he has been talking about since 1st grade. He is working hard to rehab his knee and get back on the baseball field. In the mean time it gives him and I some bonding time with physical therapy.

On May 30th my brother, Matt and his wife, Jody had their first baby. Addison Ann Davis arrived! The girls are so happy to finally have a cousin. Elli enjoyed holding and watching her every move. It is hard to believe that my brother is a Daddy!

This is Laney at the Pacers Game. I took my Dance Program to perform at a Pacers Game in March. It was a great experience.

As I write this blog I can hear the girls in the other room talking to each other.
Laney said,"Let's hide and jump out to say Happy Mother's Day!" Elli replies, "Good idea Laney!"

I love the way they talk to each other. They are becoming smart, lovely girls and I still can't believe that God chose me to be their Mom!

We are all looking forward to the warmer weather and spending time cheering on Mack at his games and traveling in June!

Well I have better go since the girls are still hiding somewhere in the house!

Happy Mother's Day!

That's what happens when you run in the bathroom...

Well the end of January was a bit traumatic for us. Okay, so I am being over dramatic but witnessing your 2 year old fall face first on the bathroom floor and seeing her tooth on the ground set me over the top. I wish I could say I kept my cool but I did not! Bill came to the rescue as well as the many people I called for advice. When all was done Elli was fine and even had her first x-ray at the pediatric dentist. No other damage was done to the rest of the teeth or gums. So, Elli will have a toothless smile for a long time. She is still super cute and now she has a perfect place for her thumb!

February started out with a bang. Mack had his first meet and did a great job. Here are a few clips of his routines.

Laney turns 4!

Well January has already come and gone and I still have not posted any Christmas pictures so I decided to just move on and continue with the recent events of our lives.

Laney celebrated her 4th birthday with her classmates at the gym. It was a great time and it was so cute to see her friends so excited for her and sing to her. Laney was more concerned about sharing her sister with her friends. Laney was very protective of Elli and wanted to be sure that Elli was always by her side.

Kids also had fun in our first big snow!

This is a picture of one of Laney's favorite birthday presents. It is a wooden cupcake set that came with markers so she can decorate the cupcakes. Great gift!

yuletide

Family time downtown before Christmas! My parents, my brother and sis-in-law, all the kids, Bill and I all went downtown for a great family dinner at Buca's (my favorite) and to see he Yuletide Christmas show.

The kids loved walking around the circle looking at the lights and in the windows. Everyone enjoyed the amazing show with the help of cookies to snack on. After the tap dancing Santa's Laney leaned over to me and whispered, "that was wonderful!" in my ear. I love watching my kids enjoy the same experiences that I enjoy too.
This was a great way to start the Christmas week! I hope this can be a tradition for us.

Christmas is here!

Sorry this blog took so long to arrive but it has been so busy this month that I finally get time to update.

As the girls get older this time of year seems to produce many opportunities to show off and perform. Here are few pictures of the girls and their holiday performances!

This is the half time basketball game show that Laney and the rest of my dance classes performed at. Laney is in the middle in the front row. She did a great job and knew all the moves! Her gymnastics class (Laney is the last girl in the line on the right) also got perform at the Varsity halftime so she was very busy that night.

Both girls had a Christmas program at school so here a few shots from that. Laney did a good job but Elli was not too sure about it. She was cute though.

InterActive Academy was invited to channel 6 to tape a short segment for Toys for Tots. All the kids got to show off and it was aired for all to see. Elli got to hold the mic. She did not say anything but loved holding it up to her mouth. You can log onto the link below to see the spot...

The month was filled with parties, decorating the house, visiting family and few trips to the doctor for colds and ear infections.

Here is our attempt at holiday pictures of the kids. O well, you take what you can get with kids and pictures!

Trick or Treat!

Both girls got to wear their costumes in Halloween parade at their school. This is a special treat for them as they walked around the school and got candy from other parents. God bless their teachers who dressed each child for the special event.

This picture is Laney with her teachers, Ms. Luisa and Ms. Roxanna. Love them!

Mack was proud of his IU pumpkin. Thanks to Bill it turned out great!

Since Halloween night was chilly the "Trick or Treating" was cut short. However, the kids loved running to the door to hand out candy to all the kids.
Laney walked around the house all month saying this poem. It is too cute and wanted to share with everyone. I wonder what the Christmas poem will be....? She is already dancing around the house singing Suzy Snowflake. (This is her ballet song she will be performing on Dec. 12th at a ZHS basketball game halftime with the rest of my dance classes!)

We are now just taking things slow to prepare for the craziness of the holiday session.

Fall Fun Times!

We had a very busy weekend! All of my dance classes (which included) Laney got to perform at the Zionsville Ghost Walk in costume!!! It was so much fun and the kids did a great job. Then the night was finished with all kids at Parent's Night Out at the gym.

Then on Sunday we had a Fall Fun Festival at the Interactive Academy and we all had a great time as a family. Then we were off to the Zoo Boo to see Matt and Jodi who were working the Hay Maze.

Laney was a cow and Elli was Belle. The girls and Mack loved running around the zoo looking at all the animals and watching the other kids in their costumes. There were actually many animals out so that was a nice surprise.

After that Bill and I ended up taking everyone out to eat which is a big treat for us. I was so proud how all 3 kids sat and ate and behaved so well! Maybe we can start to go out to eat more often!

It was a perfect family night and a good practice for Treat or Treating.
